The best “slog” you will ever put yourself through!!

When you talk to people who have taken the original Disciple Bible Study class this is usually their response:

“One of the most helpful things I ever did was to take the Disciple 1 Bible Study class!”

“Best thing I ever did!”

Now they will also tell you that is was a huge slog through 36 weeks and took almost two years to finish! Not anymore! Well, OK, it is still going to be a slog, but only a 24-week slog with fellow “sloggers” right there with you!

Disciple 1 (and 2) have recently been updated and condensed into a 24-week study, “Disciple Fast Track”, which devotes 12 weeks to the Old Testament and 12 weeks to the New Testament. This study involves daily reading, notes, study, reflection and prayer. There will also be an opportunity to take a spiritual gifts assessment and determine meaningful ways to serve and live out discipleship commitments.

Pastor Tom will lead a daytime and an evening Disciple 1 Fast Track Bible study. 

Evening classes will begin on Tuesday, September 12th. Classes will meet from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in room 116, located in the children’s wing.  The fall session will end on December 12th will a week of for Halloween and Thanksgiving.

Daytime classes will begin on Thursday, September 14th.  Classes will meet from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in room 116, located in the children's wing.  Since this class meets over the lunch hour, everyone in encouraged to bring a sack lunch. This class will end on December 7th with a week off for Thanksgiving. 

The 2018 spring New Testament 12-week study:
Evening class will begin on Tuesday, January 16th, 2018.  Classes will meet from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Library.  Daytime class will begin on Thursday, January 18th, and meet from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in room 110.  You are welcome to bring a sack lunch for this class.

There is a study manual for each 12-week session. The normal cost is $16 each. They were on sale so we ordered several of the Old Testament study manuals at a cost of $14 each and will have them available for purchase. Those of you that use a Kindle, Amazon has the Kindle edition for $9.99. Childcare will be available.

For anyone that wants to have a good working knowledge of the Bible, we cannot recommend doing this highly enough. If you started Disciple 1 in the past and life got in the way, here is your second chance. If you have done Disciple 1 in the past and would just like to do it again, come join the fun.
